Tatehana Wharf Morning Market
館鼻岸壁朝市
This massive morning market, the pride of Hachinohe, is widely considered to be the largest in Japan.
At sunrise on Sunday mornings, the market suddenly pops up on what is normally an entirely unremarkable wharf.
A wide variety of goods are sold, including not only food products such as seafood and edible wild plants but also some more unexpected items.
Be sure to try the market’s specialties, such as gummy worms and salty chicken wings!
