Hirosaki City Apple Park
A tourist facility unique to Japan's most famous apple producing region
Hirosaki Park is the home to over 1300 apples trees with 65 different varieties. Visitors can tour and have hands-on experience of the steps involved in apple production. At the production experience garden, participants can sort and bag the apples, prune the leaves, as well as freely explore the garden. The Ringo no Ie (Apple House) has a large assortment of over 1250 apple products from sweets to crafts. The café’s menu includes apple curry, pork tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet), and apple soft served ice cream. There’s even more to see – an old farm house with old farming equipment, a play area, and a picnic area.
During the winter, visitors can also experience kanjiki (wooden footwear made for walking on the snow) and sledding, special experiences that only be had in the snow country.
