Winter Rice-Paddy Art
Enormous artworks drawn in the snow
Winter Rice-Paddy Art was launched in 2016 with the goal of allowing visitors to enjoy the winter and have fun with snow. “Snow art” formed by the contrast between light and shadows is displayed at the Rice-Paddy Art Second Venue. Various workshops and interactive programs are also held, making it an event enjoyable for visitors of all ages.
The art is created by the snow artist group “It's OK.” following the techniques of British snow artist Simon Beck. Wearing snowshoes, they draw designs in an untracked snowfield by treading over it step by step for many hours. There is a special observatory that allows visitors to view the snow art from above, so you can see all of it at once without using a drone.
At night, the snow art is also lit up so that the geometric designs drawn in the snowfield loom fantastically amid the darkness.
Come to the venue to experience the stunning and charming world-class snow art of Inakadate Village.
