Iwakiyama Shrine

Iwakiyama Shrine, located at the foot of scenic Mount Iwaki (also called Tsugaru’s Fuji) was built approximately 1,200 years ago with locally grown Hiba (a type of cypress) to enshrine a local deity. Some of the shrine’s oldest wood has withstood snow and wind for over 390 years.
