Hirakawa Illumination Promenade
ひらかわイルミネーションプロムナード
The Hirakawa Illumination Promenade adds vibrant colors to winter in the Tsugaru region with about 100,000 LED lights and bright Taiwanese lanterns in seven colors.
The beautiful Taiwanese lanterns whose glow dazzles passersby are imported from Taichung City in Taiwan, which has a friendship-city relationship with Hirakawa City.
This year, the Taiwanese lanterns will be installed in the first-floor piloti space of the main building of Hirakawa City Hall.
At Hirakawa City Central Park, LED illuminations as well as bamboo candles light up the pathways.
The bamboo symbolizes Hirakawa City’s ties to Minamikyushu City in Kagoshima Prefecture, with which it has a friendship-and-goodwill city relationship.
