Kanagi Cherry Festival
his beautiful site for cherry blossoms in the Tsugaru Peninsula was selected as one of the 100 best cherry blossom sites. Baby pink cheery blossoms hanging over the waters of Lake Ashino and the reflection of the hanging bridge adds flavor to the scene. There are many visitors to this area because of its association with Osamu Dazai. Twenty-two hundred cherry trees blooming at once attracts a huge crowds of tourists. There are many events held during the Kanagi Cherry Festival, including the All Japan Tsugaru Shamisen Contest in Kanagi.
