Hachinohe Station

Tohoku Shinkansen started to operate to Hachinohe Station in December 1st, 2002. Until then, the last station of Tohoku Shinkansen was Morioka Station in Iwate Prefecture, however since it extended to Aomori Prefecture, the access from Tokyo to Aomori by train became more comfortable than before. Hachinohe Station is designed with the image of black-tailed gull for top and a ship for interior. The hotels, facility for products, tourism information, library and restaurants are annexed to the station. Hachinohe Regional Industry Promotion Center “Youtree” is also close to the station, and the Hasshoku Center, where there are the markets, is accessible in 10 minutes by bus.
