The Aomori/Hakodate Ferryboat Memorial Ship “Hakkoda-Maru”
The Hakkodamaru carried both passengers and freight for 80 years from 1908 to 1988 as a ferry connecting Aomori and Hakodate. The ship is now moored and preserved in the same condition as when it was in service. It now serves as an important historical landmark, and the bright yellow color of its exterior is a familiar sight to Aomori City residents.
