The exclusive soft-serve ice cream is a must-try! A farmers’ market selling fresh fruits and vegetables from Nambu Town

Hachinohe Farmers Marche is a farmers’ market that bustles with shoppers on a daily basis thanks to its wide selection of freshly picked local vegetables and seasonal fruits from Nambu Town, known as a fruit paradise. In addition to super-fresh, delicious fruits and vegetables, it also sells apple juice made with 100% Aomori-grown apples, organic coffee, and local soft-serve ice cream.

Particularly recommended is the local soft-serve ice cream “Hachinohe Farmers Soft Serve.” This soft-serve ice cream made with raw milk from Shingo Village, the birthplace of dairy farming in Aomori Prefecture, comes with one Nambu Sembei, a traditional local rice cracker. (You can choose either a sesame- or peanut-flavored rice cracker.)

The rich, milky soft-serve ice cream and the slightly salty rice cracker go great together, and this combination is delicious enough as is, but you’ll also definitely want to try the exclusive topping sauces (sold separately). There are six kinds: apple, blueberry, carrot, tomato, strawberry, and Hachinohe Wine, all made with fruits and vegetables from the Hachinohe area.

You can choose one favorite sauce as a topping or combine multiple kinds for your very own special bowl of soft serve that looks as good as it tastes.

The reason why Hachinohe Farmers Marche is particular about local ingredients is in order to use local ingredients without wasting them and to make them known to more people. As a result, it now draws many tourists.

Hachinohe Farmers Marche is located right next to JR Hachinohe Station, which is also a stop on the Shinkansen, so you can casually drop in while waiting for a train.
