“Nokkedon” Seafood Rice Bowls (Aomori Gyosai Center/Furukawa Market)

Aomori Gyosai Center (Furukawa Market) is home to the famous Nokkedon, a “build-your-own” rice bowl to which you can add your favorite toppings. You can sample many different kinds of local seafood a little at a time or enjoy both seafood and meat toppings, so it’s perfect if you want to “have it your way.”
◆How to Enjoy Nokkedon
① Purchase tickets at the main counter or some shops.
② Exchange a ticket for a rice bowl at shops displaying an orange flag.
③ Exchange tickets for however many toppings you want at shops displaying a dark blue flag. You can choose from sashimi, side dishes, meat, and more.
④ Once your desired Nokkedon rice bowl is complete, you can sit down and eat it at one of the lounges inside the market.
