Dakekimi sweet corn is grown in the Dake district plateau country at the foot of Mt. Iwaki, which is located in the center of the Tsugaru Region.
The huge temperature differences between day and night at the foot of Mt. Iwaki make it an ideal location for the growing of sweet corn.
Dakekimi corn being sold along the street is a familiar sight in Aomori during the autumn.
