Kuroishi Yosare
黒石よされ
One of the three most famous dance festivals in Japan. It has a long tradition, in which residents and tourists both from within and outside the prefecture dance throughout one night in mid-August. Kuroishi Yosare is comprised of three dances: the Mawari dance, the Kumi dance and the Nagashi dance. The Nagashi dance with 3,000 dancers in rows is a sight to see. The Mawari dance, danced in a circle lures the tourists to join. The Kumi dance features groups of 20 to 30 people dancing to the music of the Shamisen, taiko drums and the singing of Tsugaru folk songs.
