Tsugaru Tea Ceremony Museum
The Tsugaru Tea Ceremony Museum is a privately run museum located behind Tsugaru Ujoyaki Misuji Studio on a hill with a view of Mount Iwaki in the Toyooka district of Kuroishi City. It displays tea-ceremony items passed down for centuries as part of traditional Japanese culture, centered around the collection of the potter Rikei Imai. The museum has a signpost with calligraphy by the great painter Kojin Kudo and a blue doorplate with characters carved by Kenseki Nakajima at its entrance. Visitors can relax and enjoy matcha and sweets (for a fee) in the café space. There is also a tearoom including a preparation/washing area and a Japanese-style room, which can be rented for tea ceremonies and other occasions.
