Yunokawa Onsen

Yunokawa Onsen is an idyllic hot spring located 14 km from the mountainous town of Kawauchi, which served as the setting for Tsutomu Mizukami’s novel Kigakaikyo. This onsen area has flourished for generations, and presently, features three hot spa hotels.

Directions
Take the JR Bus bound for Wakinosawa from JR Ohminato Station and get off at Kawauchi (Approx. 1 hr. ride). From Kawauchi Station take the Kawauchi Kotsu Bus bound for Yunokawa and get off at the last stop (Approx. 30-min ride).

As of 10:00 a.m. on August 25, a portion of the Oirase Gorge walking trail is closed. The sections that are currently open are as follows:

  • Oirase Gorge Museum to Kumoi Falls

  • Please note that the section between Kumoi Falls and Nenokuchi is currently closed as of 10:00 a.m. on August 25.

  • *Vehicles can use the entire route.
