Makado Onsen Ski Area
Makado Onsen Ski Area is located on the northeastern slope in Noheji Town and is approximately a 10-minute car ride from JR Noheji Station. Although the ski area is modest, with only three chairlifts, one surface lift and five courses, its slopes of varying difficulties are perfect for all skiers and snowboarders to enjoy. The panoramic course, which is 2,000 meters in length, is at an altitude of 310 meters where you can enjoy panoramic views of Mutsu Bay. The popular course is recommended for children and beginners, while the riizen course, with a slope at an angle of 30 degrees, is ideal for advanced skiers. After skiing, relax at Makado Kanko Hotel, which is annexed to the ski area, and unwind in a large public bath or open air bath made from Aomori hiba wood.
